*As we know, there is on-going friction between Rabuka and the Mara clan who have accused the 1987 Coupist Rabuka of sullying the character of the late President Ratu Sir Kamisese Mara by accusing him of being the instigator behind the 1987 COUPS. UPDATE, WELCOME HOME. After March, Ratu Ului Mara was back in Fiji in April, for a week without let or hindrance from the Police
*We would like to point out that Ratu Ului was charged with making seditious comments (to Tagicakibau) whereas Brigadier-General PITA DRITI was charged with Inciting Mutiny and was jailed for Four Years. |

*We suggest LYNDA TABUYA and LENORA QEREQERETABUA and their fellow Kadavu kinsfolk hold a church service in Suva on Sunday 14 May, and request that one be held in Kadavu on the same day, to remember the 'KADAVU FIVE', and demand an explanation from the conference organisers why the story of their fellow brave men onboard the Leonidas was not included in the two-day conference.
*Sudesh Mishra was definitely NOT on the list of SPEAKERS while a special session was devoted to honouring the writings of the late BRIJ LAL. The keynote conference speech was delivered by USP VC PAL AHLUWALIA followed by BIMAN PRASAD.
*We have decided to publish extracts from Mishra's fascinating research to balance the lop-sided and Girmitiya dominated presentations at the conference, organised by the GLOBAL GIRMIT INSTITUTE.
*It beggars belief that the organisers invited speakers from overseas and yet never tapped into speakers in their midst at the USP.
*The Kadavu Five' spent time in Calcutta and Trinidad depots.
Equally, we would like to point out that Yanuca Lailai was the first island to be transformed into a coolie depot for Leonidas passengers
"My intention to write a paper on the five Indigenous Fijians who travelled with the first shipment of Indian workers to Fiji in 1879 was, in some quarters, treated with outright scepticism. The scepticism irked me at first, as I had irrefutable archival proof in my possession, but then I started to wonder at the assumption behind the disbelief. It struck me that the doubters were incapable of imagining their forefathers as mobile subjects of a past that cast them as characters in a history both fixed and monumentalised. In this history, all the uprooting and voyaging was done by sullen coolies, rascally colonials and gullible kanakas. Those famously sheltered subjects of an experimental colonial policy - the itaukei or Indigenous Fijians - did not have cause or means or the inclination to venture beyond the vanua (landed unit) and the dalo patch..."
SUDESH MISHRA
Below is abridged version from Mishra's article on 'Kadavu Five i-Taukei'
Fijileaks: We invite the Kai Kadavu folks to contact us ([email protected]) for further information, and any oral traditions about the 'Five' if it still exists on Kadavu Island.
We didn't hear of them at the two-day international conference organised by the Global Girmit Institute, whose TRUSTEES include Biman Prasad's wife Rajni from USP, and his chamcha GANESH PRASAD.
As we have pointed out, 14 May is a BLACK DAY, for western i-Taukei whose son, the late Dr Timoci Bavadra, was deposed by SITIVENI RABUKA. 14 May is also a dark chapter in the history of the Indo-Fijians. It was the day their girmit ancestors became slaves on the Fiji plantations. There is nothing to celebrate but to mourn 14 May 1879 and 14 May 1987. Sitiveni Rabuka is still hiding behind IMMUNITY while his talatalas have embarked on 'reconciliation journey'.
Defecation: The discharge of solid waste from the ANUS.
Sadly, the abuse towards Chaudhry, the first Indo-Fijian Prime Minister of Girmitiya descent who was deposed in the Rabuka-Speight coups of 1987 and 2000 respectively, is being hurled by Prasad, whom Aiyaz Sayed Khaiyum branded as Rabuka's 'Water Boy'.
*It is shocking to hear the verbal defecation coming from Prasad whenever he is being asked to account for the $500,000 of taxpayers money he has released to his chamchas (cronies) and even to his WIFE's Global Girmit Institute to organise the two-day international conference.
*From an academic standpoint, we have no objection to the conference but we are shocked that there are no i-Taukei speakers (except Jone Dakuvula speaking on Peoples Charter) to add to the rich history - what role, if any the chiefs and the commoners played in the acceptance or rejection of the Indian coolies from 1879-1916. Yes, they swarm and saved lives from the Syria wreck but there is more to the role of the i-Taukei in the Girmit STORY. How the Indian Coolies presence transformed the i-Taukei and Other races in Fiji.
Coming: The Kadavu Five i-Taukei who arrived on the Leonidas
"I will not respond to such verbal defecation from a person [Mahendra Chaudry] who has been convicted for breaching the Exchange Control Act and not declaring AUD$1.5 million kept in overseas bank accounts from collected funds.".
NFP leader BIMAN PRASAD refusing to explain wife's GGI link and how much of the $500,000 he passed on to his wife and Ganesh Chand.
It is very obvious that Chaudhry is questioning Prasad based on the revelations of our Fijileaks Founding Editor-in-Chief
Fijileaks to Biman Prasad: |
*Despite repeated denials from Chaudhry, protected by Bainimarama-Khaiyum dictatorship, and the abduction, torture and deportation out of Fiji of the late Fiji Sun publisher RUSSELL HUNTER (RIP), in the end Chaudhry was CHARGED, FOUND GUILTY, FINED AND BARRED FROM CONTESTING THE 2018 ELECTION.
*We hold no brief from Chaudhry nor are we defending his demand that you account for your wife's link to GGI, and how much she got from the $500,000 Girmit Budget.
Like our pursuit of Chaudhry's millions, we will hunt for the TRUTH regarding the GGI fraud, for it is Fraud in the eyes of the Girmitiya descendants.
So, STOP your 'TATTI TALK' and answer QUESTIONS.
*In 2008, your current party President PIO TIKODUADUA (who you are planning to remove at the August NFP annual general meeting and replace him with PARMOD CHAND), and now Coalition government's Minister for Home Affairs and Immigration, was among the FRCA Board Members who had filed a legal writ against me and others to scupper my hunt for Chaudhry's secret $2million in the Sydney bank account
The Italian Mafia Job? The GGI application for re-registration was lodged and registered on the same day, 23 February 2023. We wonder if the Acting Registrar of Titles for Office of the Registrar of Titles was leaned on to APRROVE the application.
*We have learnt that the GGI accounts from 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021 were in such a mess that the Auditor hired to certify them in January 2023 had declined, and yet a month later, in February, the GGI was approved, and now the GGI is running the Girmit Conference.
*We call on FICAC/POLICE to begin criminal probe into the GGI Trustees (Rajni Kausal Chand, Hirdesh Sharma, and Ganesh Chand), and Finance Minister BIMAN PRASAD into the GGIGATE.
*How many thousands out of the $500,000, did he siphon off to his WIFE's Global Girmit Institute, and whether he had informed the Coalition Government that his wife was one of the three TRUSTEES?
CONFLICT OF INTEREST: |
*The GGI was de-registered in February 2022 on account of non-submission of audited financial statements for the years 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021. The Registrar's purported letter, the Trustees cynically claimed, was not received by GGI Trustees on account of closure of their office after COVID. Hold on, the 'Office' is listed at an address, which looks like a residence: 14 Vesi Crescent, Lautoka, P. O. Box 7580, Lautoka.
*Excuse us, there was NO COVID in 2018, 2019?
*Meanwhile, Ganesh Chand's wife has been organising girmit celebrations in the western division, and Biman Prasad is chair, the National Committee for the Girmit Day celebrations.
*Why was Sugar and Multi-Ethnic Affairs Minister Charan Jeath Singh not delegated to chair the girmit celebrations? Why Biman Prasad? We are reminded of our late friend ROPATE QALO, who used to remark to us, 'Biman is nothing but a small boy in big trousers'.
*We call for a joint FICAC/POLICE investigation to establish if Prasad, his wife, and Ganesh Chand abused their positions in the girmit celebrations; Prasad in the allocation of the funds to the GGI to organise the Girmit Conference, and the GGI, run by Rajni Kausal Chand (Mrs Prasad) and Ganesh Chand, re-registering the GGI to partake in the events, including the organising of the two-day conference.
*Ganesh Chand is also on the National Committee on Girmit Events.
How much did Biman Prasad hand over to the GGI, and if he had informed Cabinet that his WIFE is one of Three TRUSTEES?
*On 14 February 2023, the Coalition Cabinet approved GIRMIT HOLIDAY.
*Within one week of the announcement by Biman Prasad, his wife Rajni and Ganesh Chand re-registered the Global Girmit Institute on
23 February 2023
"Some may be justified in feeling the financial support for a conference at a reported budget of $250,000 may be a payback for political support and Ganesh’s association with NFP. Perhaps revelation of the Board of GGI may reveal the reason as to why they were handed the bulk of Girmit budget."

"This is the cramped and crowded interior of the Library named after the greatest Fiji Historian, Professor Brij Lal and his wife, Dr Padma Lal. Professor Lal's books grace and honour the most magnificent libraries of the world, and here, in a tin-shack library, named after him, where the books, including Jahaji Bhai and Tulsi would be crying out to decorate the shelves where they get dignity, access and respect. And the library at Fiji Girmit Centre complex is the one where the boxes of books donated by Professor and Dr Padma Lal would get the dignity, respect and use they deserve." Thakur Ranjit Singh
A nolle prosequi was filed by FICAC’s senior prosecutor, Rashmi Aslam, who stated that the key witness in the case could not be located as he was overseas. Mr Chand trial was scheduled to begin next week, from December 3 to 14. Mr Aslam said FICAC was not concluding the matter, however, when the witness becomes available, they would then continue with the proceedings.
The FNU Council chair Dr Kesaia Seniloli and other Council members only decided to terminate Sarita Devi's contract on the legal advice of Feizal Haniff of Haniff Tuitoga. Bizarrely, Education Minister Aseri Radrodro re-instated Devi, and sacked those perceived to be behind Devi's removal as FNU Registrar.

FNU Council Appointments and Timeline to Sackings
*The Human Resources Committee (HRC) met in a Special Meeting called by the Chair of the Committee to discuss a new Contract issued to the Registrar of the Fiji National University, Ms Sarita Harish aka Sarita Devi, and signed by the Acting Vice Chancellor, effective 1st April 2023, following the expiry of her three-month contract which expired on 31st March 2023.
The HRC unanimously found the following:
The Acting Vice Chancellor erroneously and improperly renewed the Contract for three years following external representations made to her on the Registrar’s behalf to renew her contract.
2. The external interventions were inappropriate interventions for the proper functioning of the Fiji National University.
3. In making her decision, a. the Acting Vice Chancellor failed to take into account relevant considerations from the most recent 2022 Audit Reports regarding findings of underperformance by the Registrar in relation to her duties;
b. the Acting Vice Chancellor failed to take into account relevant considerations regarding serious allegations of inappropriate, improper, unacceptable and egregious behaviour, described by the victims as serious “bullying” on the part of the Registrar, reported and provided to the Office of a former Director of Human Resources and to a former Acting Vice Chancellor in the period April to August 2022;
c. the Acting Vice Chancellor failed to take proper account of reports and responses made by the former Director of Human Resources and the former Acting Vice Chancellor, following investigations taken by them in August 2022; and
d. the Acting Vice Chancellor failed to take into account the continuing grievance and the alleged lack of morale of staff who were the alleged victims of alleged offences and omissions of the Registrar and who continue to work in the Office of the Registrar, and those who have resigned from their employment citing in writing that their reason for their resignation was the “bullying”.
4. The Acting Vice Chancellor failed to bring to the attention of the Fiji National University Council in a timely manner the inappropriate representations and pressure put on her to renew the Contract of the Registrar, and failed to seek the Council’s guidance and advice on the matter.
